Other than Japan, I-ON got
off to a good start a couple of years ago with its business in Thailand and
since then it has been localizing its products to cater to Thailand customers.
In an effort to deepen understanding
of Thailand market, I-ON participated in an event held in Bangkok on November 20
and 21. Organized by Korea NIPA (National IT Industry Promotion Agency) and
KICC (Korea IT Cooperation Center), the event facilitated an exchange of
information on Thailand ICT market and business meetings between Korea and
Thailand ICT companies.
On day 1, Detecon, a subsidiary
of German T-Systems international GmbH specializing in telecommunications
technology consultancies in Asia shared information on Thai ICT market from
both business & technology perspectives, overview of Thailand 4.0 and
government’s initiatives towards building digital economy. There was also a
role play session to practice Thai business etiquette tips and first-hand
experience in negotiation and partnering with Thai companies.

We learned that Korea
Busan Smart City is modeled after a Phuket Smart City Project, one of the
Thailand 4.0 initiatives. As an energy related solution vendor in Thai market,
I-ON can also become a model in terms of Thai energy market in the near future.

On day 2, there was a
day-long event ‘K-Solution Fair 2017’ at JW Marriott Hotel, Bangkok. Korea’s
innovative ICT solution vendors and Thai telecommunications, SIs had
opportunity to have the most innovative technologies showcasing, B2B meetings
and networking together.
Exhibitors and visitors
shared the latest information on security, mobile, IoT, data analytics and
other enterprise solutions and explored possible partnership between the two countries.
